Story is Our Wall

This project was developed as a group and was aimed towards creating an immersive and interactive experience for primary school children at Meller's Primary school, ages 7-10, based of the poem ‘story is our wall’ by Jane Yolen.

In this production we tried to be as inclusive of the children's interpretations of the poem as we could, going as far as including their dragon drawings within the production itself. Creating an atmosphere for the children to feel involved and enraptured by was of the upmost importance to us and we feel we achieved that well.

Our production was centred around the children's move from the current world, into a different existence, via a time machine. They follow an explorer who has been trying to find a missing page from the 'Book of History', the children then go through a number of stories and games to then acquire the page and meet a dragon, their lanterns later being revealed as the dragons eggs.

This project tested our ability to devise a production and put into action all the necessities to entertain small children and keep them engaged.
